This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This lesson covers handling issues in the classroom such as students finishing at different paces, stronger and weaker students, participation reluctance and lack of confidence, larger classes, overuse of their native language, and listening difficulties. What I took out of this lesson was getting stronger/quicker students more engaged by keeping them occupied or having them be group leaders and helpers in the classroom, especially if they're attention-seekers. The other big lesson I took away from this lesson was how to deal with the gap between the stronger and weaker students by leaning on pair/group activities.
