This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
During this unit, I learnt something i didn't know before: i learnt whats the best way to plan a class, depending of the level of knowledge of the students. I know a lot about grammar, and vocabulary, and pronunciation, but i didn't know how to use it all the right way, so students would learn in a more efficient way. When i teach, i am definitely going to use the ESA method, because i think it really makes sense.I don't remember my English teacher using this method, and i think that might be the reason why so many of my classmates didn't like and didn't learn much while we were in school. For the final unit, we covered the crucial topic of how to handle various challenges we might face in the classroom. Some of the challenges covered were how to handle first lessons with either new or existing groups, how to warm up the classroom with fun exercises, handling classes with different levels of students, tackling large classrooms, dealing with reluctant students, and difficulties with listening texts. I felt this unit to be important to my knowledge as a future teacher because it made me more aware if the issues I might face in my career and how to handle them more efficiently.
