Unit 18 covered modals, phrasal verbs, and the use of passive voice. The unit discussed the basic rules pertaining to modal auxiliary verbs and offered several examples to go along with the rules. I also appreciated how an easy to follow chart was provided to show both the present and the past uses of some modals. The unit did a good job of explaining the differences between active and passive voice and I appreciated the chart to study the different ways sentences are formed using different tenses. I found the section on phrasal verbs to be a bit confusing, perhaps due to the condensed down nature of the section. It felt a little too brief of an overview on the subject and perhaps a few more examples could have cleared up some confusion. Overall, I found the unit to be very helpful and as always I appreciate the sections that offer problem areas to look out for as well as the example teaching ideas.
