The lesson planning form is a help when structuring a lesson. It keeps one organized not only with the elements of the ESA plan, but organization for time management. Further, the self-evaluation form is an excellent vehicle for improving each lesson. I think over time, the experienced teacher might get away from a plan this extensive, but always keep in mind this structure when planning. Also, if the experienced teacher teaches a lesson or series of lessons that are not up to satisfaction, I think going back to writing a more extensive plan and working through the self evaluation would be quite helpful.
