This unit was all about classroom management. I think that this unit made me realize that there are many more factors that affect the way a classroom functions that I previously thought. This unit covered everything from eye contact, to gestures, to classroom size, to group work, and to discipline. Each section outlined strategies to either handle these situations or how to avoid them. I think one of the main concepts that I took from this section is that there is so much that a teacher can prepare for in order to maintain a well-functioning classroom. For example, once the teacher gets an idea of the class size and the types of students, he or she can plan the seating structure and make a communication plan.
