Unlike the other two tenses, the future tense has seven different variations: future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, going to future, present simple, and present continuous. The two most commonly used forms are the 'going to' future tense and the present continuous tense with future applications. Since the future tense is one of the most difficult to learn, it would be best to practice it with oral games. This gets the students used to speaking in the future tense and allows them to hear their mistakes. If they were to focus mainly on written activities, it might be more difficult to pick out errors. Confusion between the versions of the future tense is common. It is suggested that certain tenses be taught together so the students can see the differences between the two. For example, the future simple is often mixed up with the be going to future. Therefore, it would be helpful to teach them together. The same goes for the future perfect and the future perfect continuous.
