Unit 3 covered the topics of methodology and how to correct and give feedback. There are many different methods for presenting a ESL lesson, ranging from the teacher keeping almost completely silent to constant drills and repetition to focusing on accomplishing a specific task. Each method had its strong points, but this curriculum argues for the ESA method: Engage, Study, and Activate. Engage attempts to draw the students in and encourage open communication. Study involves the teacher \"eliciting\", teaching new information, and a study period with practice and/or worksheets. Activate is where the students attempt to use the information learned that day in some kind of activity. You can also mix up the steps to produce a more varied lesson. My favorite parts of unit 3 were all the examples of activities, elicitation techniques and games that encourage English learning for every level of English speaker.
