Phrasal verbs and relative clauses are too difficult of concepts to teach as they are in a dictionary-like fashion (i.e. explaining what a noun is is fairly straight forward: person place or thing - where as the aforementioned concepts are not so easily explained). Using examples of common speech and explaining how, for example, modal auxiliary verbs are used as they apply to degrees of certainty and obligation make teaching and learning these more difficult grammar concepts more manageable. The passive voice will likely also pose difficulties in the classroom as students must first have a relatively strong command of the English tenses in order to use the passive voice effectively and naturally.
