The value of observed teaching practice
The prospect of observed teaching practice was one of the main reasons that I chose to take my TESOL course with The International TEFL Corporation. The offer of real life teaching experience coupled with immediate feedback from a qualified professional formed a large slice of influence for my decision.
I have had a little exposure to training within a structured course environment but found the idea of creating and teaching my own lessons a little unnerving. Within my previous experience there was no feedback or reprimand if my level of performance wasn’t up to scratch. I was teaching fresh University Graduates the workings of Microsoft Office and Outlook within our fixed office operation.
I feel one of the key values of observed teaching is that... [Read more]

Just take a sheet of paper, which is similar in shape to the board that you're going to use, and then onto that piece of paper decide where all the information that's going onto your board is going to be by the time that you've finished. So a very simple board plan just to show where the information is going to be. Also it's very useful if you make use of tables and columns to separate different areas of your work and in the same... http://www.teflonline.net For this TEFL teaching idea we ask the students to look at a scene in a hospital where there are several people doing different things. Students are given time to memorise the picture before it is turned over. The students would then be asked to say what the people were doing in the picture. For example: A nurse was giving a patient an injection. A man was pouring a glass of water. As the trainer notes in the video, this activity can be adapted to make it into a competition by having students in teams compete to remember as many actions as they can. Me Vs I English Grammar Teaching Tips - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT TEFL-TESOL Courses
In this video we take a look at the difference between "me" and "I". While they are often used without a problem in normal sentences, they are often used incorrectly in certain situations. For example, in the sentence "can you send the report to Ian and I" the use of "I" is incorrect. It should be "can you send the report to Ian and me" The reason for this is that "I" is a subject pronoun and ?me" is an object pronoun. If you remove Ian from the sentence, it becomes clear that the use of "I" is wrong. You would not say ?can you send the report to I" but you would say "can you send the report to me?". This is an easy trick to see which of the two is the correct one. Watch the video and give it a try.

So, again, we're going to start with an engage phase and for our engage, the students are just going to have a discussion about jobs. What happens at interviews and so on and so forth. So, during that engage phase, what we'd hope to do is to elicit some useful language about jobs and interviews and the types of questions that are being asked.
