TESOL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Hannah
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
"This unit taught me the best practices to teach young learners aged 5 to 13. Learners around the ages of 5 to 9 have low concentration and low memorization skills, so it?s important that their learning atmosphere is very active and constantly changing. There also has to be a lot of repetition and recycling of language in order for the students to learn. As for 9 to 13 year olds, they have a higher concentration level and are able to memorize more. This means that there will be more memorization tasks and the class would be less active. I also learned some important facts about language acquisition. For example, language learning is not a linear process and that young learners do not learn languages as quickly as older learners. There is no ?magical window? for language learning. "
