I have found this course to be challenging, thought provoking and exciting, requiring me to really think about making this long time dream a reality. I found out that I really need to do some more work on grammar and usage; particularly tenses. This proved to be the biggest challenge I faced in the 20 units. I learned how to prepare a lesson plan, something that should prove to be very useful in the future. I learned that there are countless resources available, both in print and on the web - that although creativity is useful, there is no need to re-invent the wheel.
I think that the skills I have developed as a professional social worker will be useful in engaging students. Thus, I found the exercises on engagement, classroom management and teaching style to be easy to understand. I am fairly confident about my ability in these areas and hope that it will unfold that way when I am actually in a class of students.
