This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned various ways of teaching pronunciation in this unit. Certainly, I think pronunciation is very important and grouping/pairing students to practice pronunciation through peer dictations seems to be very effective. Watching the video and listening to the instructor explain the international alphabet were very interesting lessons, since it was my first time looking at the alphabet. Also, I learned where the sounds come from, specifically, (front to back of the mouth) and the unit explained in detail the differences of each phonetic sound as well. In my opinion, it was interesting to experiment with specific sounds and repeat them all, while learning the technical vocabulary. Moreover, I confirmed my knowledge about intonation, and the lesson provided me with more information that I will utilize with my students. To conclude, I really enjoyed reading this interesting unit and watching the video, which I found useful in my teaching.
