In this unit, I learned why it is important to create a lesson plan, in addition to suggestions related to content that should be included in the lesson plan. Major elements that are suggested to be incorporated into the lesson plan include the context for the class, the focus of the lesson, necessary teaching aids, and objectives to fulfill. Another important element of the lesson plan is to encourage thinking about potential problems that may be encountered throughout the lesson and to plan possible ways to deal with those problems. All of these suggestions will help the instructor stay focused on the lesson's object, and prepare the instructor for address problems, instead of being caught by surprise.
