In this unit we see the various evaluation and tests needed in a course. We can evaluate a students knowledge by tutorials, evaluation by students themselves or tests. The different kind of tests we see are placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests and general external examinations. We see why different tests are needed and examples of some general external examinations.In this unit, I learned about phonology and pronunciation. I have never studied phonology before and it was very difficult for me to grasp the ideas, the phonetic script and to remember the places of dictation and the manners of dictation. However, I found the unit to be very informative and very interesting. I think teaching phonetics is very important and I have struggled with it in the past.
