The present perfect is much more complicated than the two above. I am not even sure if it can be taught without comparing it directly with the simple past. It uses TO HAVE + the past participle form of verbs. It is usually used to talk about something that began in the past and continued for a period of time.
Student should also be taught how to use these present tenses to form questions and negative sentences.
