While watching the two lessons in Unit 10, one immediately sees and feels which one is more fun, engaging and productive. Teacher?s unprofessional attitude in the first lesson doesn?t allow him to build any rapport with the students. They all appear confused, uncomfortable and intimidated. Lesson two is a great example of a successful engagement between students and a teacher.I learned from this Unit a new way to teach new language, vocabulary (selecting which to teach based on criteria, and what the student needs to know about that specific word, and different techniques and activities for vocabulary teaching according to the ESA approach (Straight arrow, Boomerang, Patchwork structure)). This is indeed very helpful for my current lesson in practicum.
