This unit focuses on the productive skills (speaking and writing). It later includes games where students can be involved either for competition or cooperation. If a teacher wishes to introduce a communicative activity to students, he/she must bring in a number of reasons why people communicate; they have communicative purpose, they want to say something, they want to listen to something and they are interested in what is being said. Some of the speaking activities in the classroom are; controlled activities, guided activities and creative communication.
This unit teaches me that I should make sure to develop the writing skill in my learners which is neglected by some teachers. Accuracy and fluency carry equal importance and I must achieve them when teaching productive skills.
