Parts of this unit such as stressing different words in the same sentence to derive different meaning, or using arrows to indicate intonation were quite helpful. However the overly heavy emphasis on deciphering the meaning of sentences written in the phonetic alphabet was of almost NO help to me in my \"real world\" ESL classes. Maybe inportant for a speech therapy major but a complete waste of time in this class!When using technology in the classroom, teachers may want to follow the old aged everything in moderation even moderation. We should vary the resources that we use and they must be age appropriate and be used as supplement to what we are teaching. They should never be the main focus of the lesson. Teachers need to evaluate the difference between a useful resource and one that is being use for the sake of using it.
