This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
As a brief overview of the content of this unit, I have learned of the two different types of skills essential for teaching. The first set are Receptive skills that consist of both Reading and Listening. The second set are Production Skills which consist of Speaking and Writing. All are equally important and should be taught. I learned the reasoning for why we read and listen, the differences between those two actions in regards to written text for reading, and language with listening. Both are different in that language is more difficult because there is no written format to take one's time with. Comprehension task are also essential to teaching Receptive Skills, along with combining those task with things relevant or interesting to the students and their lives.
