There are various teaching aids that can be used to make lessons more interesting and effective. I would choose the following three items in my lessons: Visual aids, dictionaries and online resources. Visual aids can bring the outside world into the classroom. In elementary classes, visual aids can be used in hand for presenting new vocab items and illustrate meaning more effectively than through verbal explanation. Dictionary will not only help students look up meaning, pronunciation and usage, but should also help students produce language. Online sources will provide the most up to date resources across all levels, allowing teachers to create his / her own materials to either supplement the course book, or replace sections that are not suitable for the class.
