With productive skills, I agree that most students and teachers focus their efforts in the classroom around speaking and less with writing as most students attend EFL classes to improve their speaking skills. There are two key areas with speaking that a teacher should also think about to focus on when teaching, which are accuracy and fluency. Both are important to have a good balance in and to be done in that order to ensure improvement of the student's ability. With accuracy, controlled exercises should be performed and the teacher giving good feedback whereas with fluency, we need to give the students space to just talk using the language taught previously to give them that opportunity and boost their confidence without jumping in to correct.
