This lesson was extremely useful for my learning from a practical point of view. It was great to compare and critique both lessons to see which was more effective for the students and why. The attitude of the teacher has a profound effect on how to students engage and respond during a lesson, therefore it is essential fpr the teacher to understand the students level of english and be flexible in his approach.Unit 14 covered the importance of course books and lesson plans. I learned the differences between authentic materials and created materials. In addition to that I learned there are a number of advantages and disadvantages associated with course books. Some of the advantages a mixed balance of skills, security for teachers and students, and a syllabus that can be graded according to the level of the students.
