In Unit 12: Teaching Productive Skills, the content is all about speaking and writing skills. These skills are just as important as reading and listening skills, but oftentimes teachers do not include writing lessons in class and save them for homework due to time constraints, which usually ends up harming the students' writing abilities. There are two different aims when working on writing and speaking skills - accuracy and fluency. The unit provides many different examples of these two aims, and gives game and lesson plan ideas to focus on both accuracy and fluency. Ultimately, through this unit I learned the difference between teaching for accuracy and fluency, and how to overall teach speaking and writing skills in the classroom.
