We learned about the different types of evaluations and tests students would use. These types would include progress, diagnosis, placement, and external tests. Each one has a different use. I think it would be important to test kids at the start to determine where they are and what they need. Then in the middle have minimal testing but enough to keep them working and for me to know how they are doing.This unit was clear in outlining methods of teaching productive skills. Good examples were given in particular for teaching writing skills, especially as this is somewhat a 'backburner' type skills that many teachers fail to put equal importance on in comparison to spoken english. Good examples of effective ESA lessons that can be used and adapted in future settings to a multitude of language levels.
