This unit was extremely interesting to me. We covered pronunciation and phonology in this unit. We learned where a sentence will be stressed in order to change the meaning, how the rise and fall makes a difference. We covered how intonation carries a the message in the sentence. We learned the organs that help produce speech and the place articulation occurs. We covered multiple techniques to teach pronunciation.Unit 16 was about conditional sentences and reported speech. It taught me the form, usage and ways to integrate this grammatical phenomena into a lesson. I learned to differentiate the different kind of if-clauses in their use and how to build them with the correct tenses. The charts and tables about the reported speech were very helpful in this unit to visualise the at times complex and misleading use of tenses.
