Having a degree in music education I have worked with the phonetic alphabet for years in choral conducting. I had no idea that this was also to be taught in a english course. I am glad to see that the inflections and stresses on keys words are still being taught and used correctly. I find this unit helpful in teaching and a nice refresher for something I haven't used in awhile.This last unit was a decent of closing the TEFL preparation materials. Although it was lacking in substance, I would agree that it is definitely needed to touch up on some of the points elicited in the section. Overall, I do not consider the content of the unit essential. It is something that every single teacher to be should understand and know from past experiences in school.
