This unit was about teaching receptive skills (reading and listening). Prior to this unit I did not know the difference between skimming and scanning, nor would I have paired reading and listening together. I would normally have done reading/writing activities in the same lesson. As in previous lessons, unit 7 was easy to understand, provided great stimulus material (for lesson planning), and was very helpful.In this unit, I have learned the different types of materials that can be used in a Business English class. I have learned the difference between authentic and non-authentic materials. As well as, the different types of each material, such as worksheets, newspapers etc. I have also learned the advantage and disadvantage of using such materials. This greatly helps new teachers to plan their lessons accordingly.
