This unit described and explained the traits and responsibilities of teachers and learners. It was helpful for me to learn that the teacher does not only have the role of a classroom manager or lecturer but can also act as an organizer, a prompter, a participant, or a facilitator. This unit also explained the differences between young learners and adult learners. Based on their ages, students' levels of motivation, nervousness, learning experience, and language experience varies. For example, a younger student would most likely be less self-conscious about making mistakes than an adult would be. This unit showed me the importance of being aware of the students' learning and language level and of adapting to these levels.
