This unit was interesting. It gave me an insight in the many ways to teach and learn a language. It is nice to know there are so many options, so I can make a plan and teach in a way that is customized to my personality and my students. There are also many games and potential activites so it is reassuring to know that I will have many resources and ideas to fill my class periods.As an ELA teacher, I almost never use course books. They have some application in my Wilson Reading System class, but texts for that are provided and graded for specific students and levels of English proficiency. While I understand the advantages of course books, I plan to use them only as a last resort when needing inspiration or a safety net for tasks with unexpected failures.
