One of the major takeaways that I got from this lesson was that you don't have to be an expert in the clients industry, just have to be, or appear to be, and expert in the English language. It was also interesting in transforming your lack of knowledge in their industry into a way to communicate and further the use of the English language as they can explain in to you. It is interesting thinking about how to tailor the environment of teaching to children as well. I was thinking about at all the times I see parents with young babies, and when they first start talking how excited they are and how they mimic back the sounds to their children to encourage them to keep making noises, and correct speech eventually follows.
