The methods for teaching English has been a challenge for centuries and has evolved over time to what is currently considered the best approach, which is the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate)...this approach is quite interesting and I look forward to applying the numerous samples of elicitation to keep students motivated in a course. The lesson plans have yet to be fully understood as I look forward to more examples in future units. This unit fortified my knowledge of the different types of conditional forms of speech in the English language. I learned to distinguish between direct and reported speech; i also learned how to transform the structure of direct speech into reported speech. This unit helped with my knowledge of these two aspects of speech, and also gave me good teaching ideas in the form of games for when i apply this knowledge in the classroom.
