For Business English we can use our ignorance about one's job to elicit greater conversation; we need to find out what a person does and ask to job shadow; remain in professional dress and demeanor; and keep records. For B.E. that is not recommended: refrain from talking about people in their company; don't expect employees to have all of the materials since fatigue is a major factor; and don't use the students' native language.
I need to remember that enthusiasm may not be consistent within employees and to be aware that a person may be seated next to their supervisor and might not want to appear inferior. This may present itself as a student is less talkative and might not want to take risks in class.
