This section deals with the past tense, which includes many of the same tenses as in the present. To form the simple past, one simply uses the past form of the verb. To form the pass continuous, one uses the past form of the verb 'to be' along with a verb in '-ing' form. The past participle is formed by using the past of the verb 'to have' along with the participle form of the verb. Of special note is the difficulty students may have with the past perfect continuous form, wherein the student must remember to include, in the correct order, the correct past form of 'have', the participle of 'to be' (been) and the '-ing' form of the main verb, each of which is integral to a correct usage of the tense.
