Writing a lesson plan in advance fulfills multiple purposes. It helps teachers keep track of the topics they have already discussed in the classroom; it also helps create a path for achieving an objective. However, certain factors have to be taken into account to make the lesson objective a success, such as language point, teaching aids, ESA phase order, etc. The lesson should also be flexible enough to account for students' needs or unexpected circumstances.
I believe planning is vital for an inexperienced teacher because it will help identify the lesson's strengths and weaknesses. After the teacher has gained some insight, the flow of the lesson plan for future classes will be much smoother.
