Unit 18 is about modal,s phrasal verbs and passive voice. We learned that modals express a number of different ideas, such as obligation, possibility, permission, ability and advice, with a few words having multiple meanings behind the word. Modal verbs can change the formality and meaning of the main verb within a sentence. Passive voice, there are two voices in English, passive and active. Active is more focus on the agent, while passive is more so the subject. The form for the auxiliary verb + past participle is what we use for both passive and active. The three categories of clauses, we have independent, dependent, and relative clause. Phasal Verbs, type 1 - intransitive, type 2 - transitive seperable, and type 3, transitive inseperable.
