In the speaking section of this unit, I found the delineation of focusing on accuracy during the study phase and fluency during the activate phase to be very helpful. However, I did not find the writing section to be particularly helpful - at least not what I was hoping it would be. Rather than focusing on a creative writing lesson, I wish this unit had focused on academic writing. Creative writing is more flexible, more relative than academic writing. Because academic writing is more exacting, I find myself constantly looking for ideas to help students master academic writing techniques (very difficult - even for native speakers!).
