Unit 15 evaluation and testing give a number of ways to assess a students language level by tutorials, evaluation of students and tests. The different types of tests such as placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests, general external examinations which are mainly given to the instructors and not taught ina school setting. The other tests are facilitated by the teachers and given to the students to test the knowledge learned or what they know prior to learning the information. The Cambridge assessment is more so for people learning the English language and using it in a more professional setting. placement tests are designed to enable teachers to place new students into the correct class according to their language ability. Progress tests should be used periodically to gauge what language has been remembered or acquired and what language has been forgotten. Diagnostic tests are basically similar in content to placement tests, and are sometimes more extensive, they are given at the start of the course to see what the students already know.
