This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 15 taught about testing and evaluation. I learned that teachers can evaluate a student's language level in three ways; tutorials, evaluation by the students, and tests. There are many different types of tests, including placement exams, progress tests, diagnostic tests, and practice tests. Each test is given for a certain purpose and the purpose differs depending on what it is designed to assess.
I also learned that there is a category of \"general external examination\" including the TOEFL, IELTS, and the TOEIC. The Cambridge Assessment is the non-teaching department of the University of Cambridge and is responsible for giving a broad range of assessments (UK OCR, Cambridge ESOL, Cambridge International) and are exams which are the world's leading range of certificates for learners of English. For example there is the Key English Test, the Preliminary English Test, the First Certificate in English, the Certificate of Advanced English, the Certificate of Proficiency in English as well as certificates for Skills for Life and Business English.
