Unit 6 was a grammatical overview of the past tense. Having already learned about the present tense, this unit was an important step in continuing to learn in depth about the different tenses. This past tense is particularly important because it will be used and encountered throughout any English learner?s academic career. Not only is it commonly used in narrative settings, but is prevalent in academic writings in fields such as History. Although the presence of exceptions and irregular verbs make things trickier, I learned in this lesson to follow the various formulas of verbs combinations to be able to delineate between past simple, continuous, perfect etc.
