This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have learned in this unit that it is very important to be prepared ahead of lesson, and that the teacher's voice, gestures and eye contact all play an important role in how the teaches can manage their classrooms. It is also important to understand for the teacher to understand external factors about the culture they are teaching the language in. To be able to manage a classroom, a teacher must establish good rapport, and decide which activities to be used with the whole group, which to be used for individuals, and which for pairing students. The teacher must also try to lessen the teacher talk time and increase the student talk time, while observing and guiding.
