This unit covered information about books and materials teachers use in the classroom. The materials can be authentic , which means they are not created for ESL students however are more interesting and can give students more confidence but can not be graded. And created materials , which are designed by a teacher to suit the level and interests of his students, like crosswords, puzzles, word search, flash cards, etc , they can be graded.There are materials that teachers use in classrooms: wipe board, visual aids, worksheets, audio and video AIDS, dictionary, course book. Some of the advantages of using course books are: they are expected by students, they provide syllabus and offer continuity. Disadvantages would consist of: not being of interest to everyone, also they dictate what is taught. Teachers always have options of omitting, replacing,supplementing or adapting books for their classroom use.
