It really depends on the teacher of what atmosphere the class will have. The teacher should always look for an alternative way in dealing and handling different kinds of students, not be judgmental. The teacher should always cater to the needs of everyone, in all the units I learned there are really a number of ways on how to encourage reluctant students and techniques on how to handle classes specially for inexperienced teachers like me, all we have to do is review and get familiarized with it. Also, be approachable as you can be in your class so that your students will not get intimidated by you. And lastly, the teacher should carry out the lesson at the pace of the majority of the class.
