Unit 10 provides videos of two different lessons: a bad example and a good example. I noticed immediately in the first video that the lesson was not going to be effective or have much participation from the students. From the instructor?s poor facial expressions, tone of voice, and body language. Personally, if I was a student in the first video, I would not be encouraged to participate in the lesson. However, in the second video, the instructor opened with a positive attitude, a smile, and took the time to learn the students? names so that he could call individually on them to make sure they were all included in the lesson. Feeling the positive energy from the instructor helps students to engage in the lesson, even if they may have wrong answers.
