This unit deals with modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. I liked all the teaching ideas suggested for the modal and passive voice lessons, and the reminders of the typical difficulties inherent with learning the passive voice such as using the auxiliary verb in the wrong tense. I feel that I learned something new in relative clauses. I'm not sure that I always knew the rule about separating out non-defining clauses with commas, and not using the separating commas with defining clauses. That punctuation point would certainly add clarity to the nature of the clause and the overall meaning of the sentence. I like the reminder at the end that phrasal verbs, since they often take on a completely different meaning than the verb without the participles, should be taught more as vocabulary pieces, rather than being taught within a \"phrasal verb\" unit. It is also a great idea to keep track of challenging vocabulary that has been covered and intentionally use it organically in speaking to the class going forward.
