This unit covered the different teaching situations that are likely to be encountered when teaching EFL. This covered the different beginner levels that will be encountered (true beginner, false beginner, adult learner, young learner and beginner with no roman alphabet) and what is likely to be the differences. It also covered teaching the young and what they need in terms of lesson planning. Teaching business english was also covered which is where the teacher is expert in english and not their business, which can be a strong asset as not knowing their business can be used as a source for questions and lesson activities. Then finally teaching in monolingual versus multilingual classes and what the differences are there.
