I learned about the future tenses in the English language in this unit. The future tenses are very complex and there are many different tenses that can be used, which can be very confusing for students that are trying to learn English. I learned about the most common of these, which are the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, be going + infinitive form, and the two present tenses that can be used for talking about the future: present simple and present continuous. For each of these tenses, I learned the form, usages, and some common mistakes that students make, along with ideas for teaching these tenses. It was also helpful to learn which tenses are similar to other tenses, because those areas would be most confusing for the students. For example, the future perfect could often be confused with the future perfect continuous, or the \"be going + infinitive\" form is often confused with the future simple. It is best in situations like this to teach the tenses together so that your students can see the differences and they can be discussed in class.
