This unit was extremely helpful to piece together all of the information I have learned about the classroom up to this point. The ability to watch a teacher interact with a class allowed for a lot of concepts to be better understood. For example, while I went through the whole unit about ESA method of teaching, I couldn’t imagine how it would all flow together in the actual class. The live action gave me the much needed insight into what I am looking forward too. I could pinpoint what was engaging with the class versus a more studious approach with worksheets and discussion. Also, it gave me the perspective of watching what certain behaviors would look like to an outsider, which allows for more criticism to truly understand the effects behaviors can have on students. The first video showcases a teacher with low motivation, enthusiasm, and excitement in the classroom. I can see how this would affect students. The second video definitely shows how students would feel more invited to participate in the classroom. This unit was very useful.
