With future tenses, we see a lot of similarities when looking at simple, perfect, continuous, and perfect continuous. However, there are additional tenses depending on usage, and it can be confusing to apply present tenses to future actions (i.e. Present simple and present continuous). Using activate stage activities that carry across tenses, like writing in diaries or story telling, can help students combine all tenses and assess when is most appropriate to use each. Additionally, students can pick up on little tips, like that future perfect continuous often begins with \"by\" or another adverbial phrase. I believe one of the biggest challenges for students will be differentiating between verb use and form use. In other words, if a sentence says \"I will have to leave by 10pm,\" then this is future simple despite the use of the verb \"have,\" but seeing \"have\" may trigger students to say otherwise. Clearly laying out the tense formulas and letting students apply them rather than memorize them blindly should help.
