In this unit I learned about the rules of modal auxiliary verbs such as can, could, may, might, etc. And how we should use each one of these depending on what we want to express. We could use modal auxiliary verbs to ask for permission, to give an advice, to talk about a possibility or an ability. I learned about the active voice and the passive voice used in English language. In the passive voice, the 'doer' of the action doesn't appear. This unit talks about relative clauses too. A relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun. A relative clause could be defining or non - defining, the use of commas is critical in non - defining clauses. Finally, I learned about phrasal verbs. These consist of a verb plus one or two particles and they operate as one item. The phrasal verbs could be intransitive (can't be followed by a direct object), transitive separable (an object pronoun can only come between the verb and the particle) or transitive inseparable (the object pronoun come after the particle).
