In teaching, there will be different kinds of beginners classified by: their exposure to English, age range, and mother language. In all types of beginner groups, it is recommended to always be aware of their needs. A simple questionnaire can help the teacher obtain information on how to structure the lessons according to their previous learning experiences, what their goals are, and what activities could work. Teaching can be to groups or to individual students which may be young or older (as happens with Business English teaching). Each form of teaching has its own perks and problems that can be overcome with flexibility and always keeping the goals in mind. The teacher can prepare for a lot of the problems with investigating the teaching environment, being interactive with the students and other staff, preparing lessons and materials, and minding the culture. The most important aim is to expose students to as much English as possible in forms of authentic and non-authentic materials as well as practice.
